LEGAL BOOKKEEPER POSITION
We are looking for a legal bookkeeper to provide bookkeeping services for our law firm clients: from entering data to reconciling bank accounts; must be able to complete the accounting cycle up to the Trial Balance.
Duties also include HST filing and completion of draft year-end financial statements.
REQUIREMENTS

Proficient in PCLaw, or other practice management software (2-years minimum experience).

Must be skillful in most, or all, of the following features:

Billing
-
Accounts Payable
-
Bank Reconciliation
-
Trust Bank module (Receipts and Disbursements)
-
General Bank module (Receipts and Disbursements)
-
Experience working in a law firm environment in a bookkeeping/accounting capacity (1-year minimum experience)

Must understand fundamental accounting concepts (i.e. debits vs credits, chart of accounts, assets vs liabilities, etc)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (mostly Excel)

Ability to take charge of a project, identify and resolve problems; bring project to a close

Able to work well under pressure and handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable collaborating, working independently or with minimal supervision

Organized and detail oriented

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
